When Laura's parents divorced five years ago and her mother moved to Chicago, Laura decided to remain with her father, where she could be close to the woods she loved. But Laura's beloved home is changing in terrifying ways. Her father has become strangely distant, and spends most of his time in a locked-up old shed. The wildlife in the woods is acting strangely, as if disturbed and she makes the mistake of deciding to investigate. But Laura will soon learn that sometimes it's better to mind your own business - and she may pay be forced to pay the price of her nosiness with her own life. Because the truth she uncovers is one that someone will kill to keep buried.
